\"Alia<\/a>Presque Isle, Maine<\/strong>\u2014St. Apollonia Pediatric Dentistry recently asked students from Wintergreen Arts Center\u2019s after-school arts program to design this year\u2019s holiday ornament for the Festival of Trees.\u00a0 Eighteen students created original artwork for the project and two pieces were chosen to adorn the ornament.<\/p>\n

All student artwork will be on display during the Festival of Trees to be held during the first weekend of December at the Northern Maine Community College Gymnasium.<\/p>\n

Artwork created by Wintergreen students Alia Skaleski of Presque Isle and Katelyn Michaud of Caribou were selected by members of St. Apollonia\u2019s staff, board, and the community to be incorporated into the design of this year\u2019s ornament.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe artwork is amazing,\u201d said Dr. Norma Desjardins, St. Apollonia\u2019s executive director.\u00a0 \u201cThe Wintergreen students did a great job helping to make this year\u2019s Festival of Trees ornament something truly special.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dr. Erik Johnson, pediatric dentist for St. Apollonia, was a member of the panel that judged the artwork.\u00a0 \u201cI love the creative ideas these students came up with,\u201d he said.\u00a0 \u201cWhen the Festival of Trees is over, we plan to display all of this artwork at the dental office for our patients to enjoy.\u201d<\/p>\n

St. Apollonia Pediatric Dentistry office is located at 122 Academy Street in Presque Isle.\u00a0 This year marks their fourth annual Festival of Trees event, which has grown into a major fundraiser for the clinic.<\/p>\n

Wintergreen extends sincere thanks to the creative staff at Print Works in Presque Isle for digitally scanning the winning artwork in preparation for it to be used in creating this year\u2019s holiday ornament for the Festival of Trees.<\/p>\n
