{"id":2322,"date":"2019-12-11T19:46:08","date_gmt":"2019-12-11T19:46:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wintergreenarts.org\/wordpress\/?p=2322"},"modified":"2019-12-11T19:46:12","modified_gmt":"2019-12-11T19:46:12","slug":"wintergreen-receives-grant-from-maine-community-foundation-to-create-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.wintergreenarts.org\/wordpress\/wintergreen-receives-grant-from-maine-community-foundation-to-create-video\/","title":{"rendered":"Wintergreen receives grant from Maine Community Foundation to create video"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"252\" height=\"108\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wintergreenarts.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/MaineCF-2015-logo-lo-res-72ppi.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2323\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PRESQUE ISLE, Maine<\/strong>\u2014Wintergreen\nArts Center recently received a $4,000 grant from the Maine Community\nFoundation to create a digital storytelling (video) project highlighting the\nimportance of agriculture to the local economy in Aroostook County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This grant is made from the Maine Expansion Arts Fund of the\nMaine Community Foundation at the recommendation of the advisors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe idea for Wintergreen\u2019s students to create this video project\ncame from a member of the agricultural community right here in Aroostook\nCounty,\u201d said Dottie Hutchins, Wintergreen\u2019s executive director.&nbsp; \u201cWe are beyond grateful for the support of\nthe Maine Community Foundation and absolutely thrilled to finally be able to\nmake this project a reality.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the winter, Wintergreen teachers and students will work\nwith community partners\u2014farmers, processors, agricultural officials, and\nothers\u2014to gather background information and complete the research needed to\nbuild storyboards and write the script in preparation for video production to\ntake place over the growing season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rowena and Shawn McPherson of Mouse Island Creatives located\nin Perham will serve as creative consultants on the project providing oversight\nin project steps including storyboarding, directing, proofing, producing,\nshooting and editing.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A $500 donation from the Northern Maine Agricultural\nFoundation, matched by a $500 gift from McCain Foods USA, help support this\nproject.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>More about the Maine Community Foundation:<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0 The Maine Community Foundation works with donors and other partners to improve the quality of life for all Maine people.\u00a0 MaineCF is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and ensuring Maine is a safe, welcoming, and accepting place for everyone.\u00a0 Visit:\u00a0 www.mainecf.org<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3>Related Images:<\/h3>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PRESQUE ISLE, Maine\u2014Wintergreen Arts Center recently received a $4,000 grant from the Maine Community Foundation to create a digital storytelling (video) project highlighting the importance of agriculture to the local economy in Aroostook County.
