Local artisan Willow Cyr will be selling paintings created with an acrylic-paint-pouring method, along with beaded hanging prisms, and dog scarves on Saturday, May 7, at the Kids’ (Only) Arts & Crafts Fair<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Presque Isle, Maine<\/strong>\u2014Come support young, local artists and crafters at a unique Kids\u2019 (Only) Arts & Crafts Fair on Saturday, May 7, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, at the Wintergreen Arts Center.  Kids-only vendors will be selling their own creations including artwork, handmade sun catchers, pet products, bracelets, necklaces, magnets, slime, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis event is such a great learning experience and confidence builder for the kids,\u201d said Melanie Cyr, Wintergreen\u2019s private party and event planner.  \u201cIt really brings out the little entrepreneur in each of them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cyr believes participating in the fair is a confidence builder for children, a chance for them to speak for themselves about something they feel excited about and are proud to create.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey have a goal to work toward and a deadline to meet.\u201d Cyr added.  \u201cThey also get the opportunity to work with money and make change.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cyr says her favorite part of the event happens within the last half hour when the young vendors take their hard-earned money and go shopping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey check out the other crafters\u2019 tables and each other\u2019s items,\u201d she said.  \u201cThey are so positive and encouraging of one another.  It\u2019s a great way to wrap up the experience.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vendors may pair up and share a table or go solo.  They must be younger than or 18-years-old.  The cost is $20 and each vendor needs to find a sponsor\u2014a parent, relative, business, or friend\u2014and fill out a contract.  Sorry, no home-baked food items for sale.  Interested kids or sponsors may call (207) 762-3576 or email wintergreenarts@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
