Over the years, she has served in just about every position at the arts center. She currently serves as chair of our board of directors. Danielle enjoys volunteering at our many events and is often seen facepainting at community events. She is always willing to roll up her sleeves with anything Wintergreen needs. Her help supports our efforts to make a positive impact on the children and families in our community. She was born in Presque Isle but spent her early years in the Carolinas where she graduated from Wade Hampton High and the Fine Arts Center in Greenville, South Carolina. Miranda returned home to study fine arts at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.umpi.edu\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.umpi.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">University of Maine at Presque Isle<\/a>. She graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and Certificate in Project Management. She currently serves as the secretary. Billi works at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.katahdintrust.com\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.katahdintrust.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Katahdin Trust Company<\/a> serving as the senior vice president of community banking. She is an active mom of three Wintergreen children: Kapri, Kooper and Porter.&nbsp;They keep her on the run with basketball, hockey, and soccer schedules! She is the director of marketing and communications at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmcc.edu\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.nmcc.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Northern Maine Community College<\/a>. While teaching English in Hokkaido, Japan, she developed a deep appreciation for the craftsmanship and pride Japanese artisans bring to their work. Christine enjoys sumo, travelling with her husband and two kids and has a particular fondness for visiting art galleries and natural history museums. She&nbsp;is proud to serve on the Wintergreen board, believing strongly in its mission and value to the County.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Sue-Nickerson\">Susan Nickerson<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:20% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"308\" height=\"441\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wintergreenarts.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Sue-Nickerson-CROPPED.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4838 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wintergreenarts.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Sue-Nickerson-CROPPED.jpg 308w, https:\/\/www.wintergreenarts.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Sue-Nickerson-CROPPED-210x300.jpg 210w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 308px) 100vw, 308px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p id=\"Sue-Nickerson\"><strong>Sue <\/strong>has been a woman of action at Wintergreen since our inception in 2006 when our founder, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wintergreenarts.org\/wordpress\/history\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.wintergreenarts.org\/wordpress\/history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lara Cannon<\/a>, asked her to serve as the new nonprofit\u2019s treasurer. Sue remains our treasurer to this day. She has seen Wintergreen through many phases keeping us all on track. Sue resides in Presque Isle and spends her winters in sunny Florida. She is a bookkeeper for longtime clients but saves time for her passions, spending time with her great-grandbabies and playing cards with her friends. He joined our board of directors in 2024. Dylan received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.umpi.edu\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.umpi.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">University of Maine at Presque Isle<\/a> (UMPI) and is pursuing a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Maine College of Art &amp; Design in Portland. He is the ceramics, sculpture, and design foundations instructor for UMPI. Dylan is invested in developing the Aroostook County community and has even taken it into his art practice by harvesting local clay. She served as center manager and enjoyed driving the W.O.W. (Wintergreen on Wheels) Wagon, facepainting at every event imaginable. Dione was a popular Pizza \u2018n Paint instructor and substitute teacher for After School Arts classes. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.umpi.edu\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.umpi.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">University of Maine at Presque Isle<\/a> (UMPI) alumna, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography. Dione currently works for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.griffethhonda.com\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.griffethhonda.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Griffeth Honda<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.griffeth-ford.com\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.griffeth-ford.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Griffeth Ford<\/a> but can most often be seen wearing Wildcat gear and cheering LOUDLY for her son, Lincoln, #35 on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sad1.org\/o\/pihs\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.sad1.org\/o\/pihs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Presque Isle High School<\/a> basketball team. Being a part of Wintergreen since 2010, she joined the board of directors in 2020. Gretchen believes deeply in Wintergreen\u2019s mission and is proud to be a part of a center that supports local artists in so many ways. In her spare time, Gretchen can be found in her workshop creating with repurposed items. During her time in Indiana Ally worked in the higher education and nonprofit secotor, most recently at an arts nonprofit that focuses on public sculpture. Ally&#8217;s degree is in Studio Art with an emphasis on printmaking. Aside from her work in printmaking, she also works in stained glass, which she learned from her grandfather. When she is not in her studio, Ally enjoys reading, hiking with her dogs, and crocheting. Dottie\u2019s most recent writing project was for Maine\u2019s largest construction company, CIANBRO, as a member of the company\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/issuu.com\/cianbro\/docs\/cianbro_75_years_single_hi-res\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/issuu.com\/cianbro\/docs\/cianbro_75_years_single_hi-res\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">75-th anniversary book<\/a> team. She and her colleague, Katie Greenlaw, have created an amazing, loving program and remain at the helm. An experienced elementary education graduate of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.umpi.edu\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.umpi.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">University of Maine at Presque Isle<\/a>, Lisa also helped found the Aroostook Autism Support Group. Originally from Arkansas, McKenzie moved to Caribou in 2016 to be closer to family. In 2025, Sophia will graduate from Caribou High School with plans to enter a pre-law program. When not at Wintergreen, Sophia can be found working at <a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/aroostookfarm\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/aroostookfarm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Aroostook Farm<\/a>, the University of Maine&#8217;s research farm in Presque Isle, along with helping to herd cattle at her family\u2019s farm. Katie came to Wintergreen with a decade of experience at a developmental preschool. With family roots in Maine, Katie grew up in Georgia. She later made the Pine Tree State her permanent home where she attended the University of Maine. Quickly learning that Erin worked as a broadcast journalist in Bangor for four years, it didn\u2019t take long to enlist her video production skills to help our budding student reporters at WKNN, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wintergreenarts.org\/wordpress\/wintergreen-kids-news-network\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.wintergreenarts.org\/wordpress\/wintergreen-kids-news-network\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wintergreen Kids News Network<\/a>. She went on to launch Saplings that fall. A native of Westfield, Erin returned to Aroostook County to raise her family. She and her husband, Hogan, have three active, curious boys, Bode, Rollie, and Hugo. Claire grew up with art, finding peace, joy, and growth in her work. Exploring mediums such as acrylics, watercolors, oil, and even tattooing, she found a niche in the infinite possibilities of the digital realm. Claire is a student at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.umpi.edu\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.umpi.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">University of Maine at Presque Isle<\/a> studying education with a goal of teaching kindergarten when she graduates. In addition to transforming our summer program into theme-based camps, Shaye spearheaded the creation of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wintergreenarts.org\/wordpress\/art-with-heart\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.wintergreenarts.org\/wordpress\/art-with-heart\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ART with HeART<\/a>, a free arts program in partnership with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pihousing.org\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.pihousing.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Presque Isle Housing Authority<\/a> that continues to grow and thrive since its inception. A native of Mapleton, Shaye graduated with a degree in early childhood and elementary education from Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont. After teaching elementary school in Vermont for several years, she returned to her home state where she now teaches in southern Maine. She is a member of our creative staff and a member of our board of directors. In 2022, Gretchen stepped down as board chair to become our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wintergreenarts.org\/wordpress\/special-events\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.wintergreenarts.org\/wordpress\/special-events\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">events director<\/a> and in 2025 became our programming director. She was pivotal in the 2020 renovation of our new space at the Aroostook Centre Mall. From project planning and budgeting, to swinging a hammer, Gretchen helped lead our all-volunteer efforts to transform our space. A native of central Maine, Gretchen has made Aroostook County her home.
