Presque Isle, Maine<\/strong>\u2014Students from the Wintergreen Arts Center\u2019s after-school program will help install a fence project they\u2019ve been working on for the Presque Isle Community Garden during the Community Garden\u2019s 2nd<\/sup> Annual Spring Fling to be held on June 10, 2017, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.\u00a0 The Community Garden is located at 37 Birch Street.<\/p>\n

\u201cChrista Galipeau, the Community Garden\u2019s coordinator, approached us with their fence project last winter,\u201d said Dottie Hutchins, Wintergreen\u2019s executive Director.\u00a0 \u201cWe immediately loved the idea and saw it as a creative way for our students to experience the feeling of giving back to their community.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Community Garden project is sponsored and supported by the Presque Isle Housing Authority, 4-H Foundation, Maine Master Gardener Development Board, Natural Resources Council of Maine, Cooperative Extension Master Gardner Volunteers, The Aroostook Medical Center, and the Aroostook District Coordinating Council for Public Health.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe welcome everyone involved with this project,\u201d said Jennifer Trombley, executive director for the Presque Isle Housing Authority.\u00a0 \u201cWe are happy to host the Community Garden in our neighborhood.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other Spring Fling activities include lending a hand with improvement projects, starting a garden plot, a BBQ, and more.\u00a0 For more information, the public may call the Presque Isle Community Garden at (207) 764-0998.<\/p>\n
