\"Wintergreen<\/a>Tickets go on sale Black Friday and Cyber Monday<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine\u2014<\/strong>Wintergreen Arts Center and Katahdin Trust Company announce THE POLAR EXPRESS holiday event will be held on two weekends in December this year.\u00a0 Families may choose from the following four days to take a ride on the magic \u201ctrain\u201d to the North Pole: \u00a0Friday, December 8, Saturday, December 9, Friday, December 15, and Saturday, December 16, 2017.<\/p>\n

One-thousand POLAR EXPRESS tickets will be sold on Black Friday, November 24, from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm, at the Rotary Auction Store in the Aroostook Centre Mall.\u00a0 Five-hundred POLAR EXPRESS tickets will also be sold online beginning at Noon on Cyber Monday, November 27, at the MSAD#1 Adult & Community Education website, msad1.coursestorm.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With the purchase of a $10 roundtrip golden ticket, each passenger climbs aboard Presque Isle Historical Society\u2019s Molly the Trolley who magically transforms herself into THE POLAR EXPRESS.\u00a0 As the conductor punches tickets, riders enjoy a special holiday trip to the North Pole (Wintergreen) where Santa\u2019s Elves serve hot cocoa and sing songs.\u00a0 Everyone gets to decorate sugar cookies, visit with Santa, and take home a jingle bell souvenir.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is Wintergreen\u2019s fifth annual POLAR EXPRESS,\u201d said Kim Guerrette Michaud, board chair.\u00a0 \u201cWe are joined by an entire cast of volunteers who truly make this a magical experience for the young and young-at-heart.\u00a0 Together, Wintergreen and Katahdin Trust, thank our partners, University of Maine at Presque Isle, MSAD#1 Adult & Community Education, Presque Isle Rotary Club, The Aroostook Medical Center, Momentum Aroostook, Presque Isle High School Class of 2020, and Townsquare Media.\u00a0 We are excited about offering two weekends this year, and hope our ticket-sale options are more convenient.\u201d<\/p>\n

Krista Putnam, vice president, marketing, Katahdin Trust Company, said, \u201cKatahdin Trust believes in supporting the communities where we live, work and play.\u00a0 We are excited to be a part of The Polar Express this year.\u00a0 It gives families a great opportunity to have fun and spend time together, all while continuing to support the incredible work of the Wintergreen Arts Center.”<\/p>\n

Rides are intended for children ages 10 and under.\u00a0 All children must be accompanied by a ticketed adult.\u00a0 Time of departure is to be selected when purchasing tickets.\u00a0 \u201cTrains\u201d depart every 20 minutes from Gentile Hall at the University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Fridays and 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturdays.\u00a0 All tickets are roundtrip from UMPI to Wintergreen and back to UMPI.<\/p>\n
