Sharmon Clark.\nMindfulness Camps are designed to help children bring a sense of calm to an\nincreasingly anxious world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beginning June 15, 2020, three consecutive weeks of Mindfulness\nCamps are scheduled to meet for one-and-a-half-hour classes on Monday through\nThursday morning.&nbsp; Topics include Mindful\nBreathing, Heartfulness, and Mindful Movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clark is a second-grade teacher at Pine Street Elementary\nSchool in Presque Isle, where she uses the Mindful School curriculum in her\nclassroom.&nbsp; She also hosts Finding Calm,\na Facebook page geared towards children and adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMindfulness is being intentional and paying attention to\nwhat\u2019s happening in the present moment\u2014right here, right now,\u201d said Clark.&nbsp; \u201cIt\u2019s learning how to be still and quiet\nwhile focusing on only one thing.&nbsp; It is a\ntool children and adults may use to bring calmness and peace into their lives.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mindfulness Camps are a new addition to Wintergreen\u2019s Summer\nArts Camps programming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhen I first learned about Sharmon\u2019s idea for teaching\nMindfulness at Wintergreen, I felt the timing was perfect,\u201d said Dottie\nHutchins, executive director.&nbsp; \u201cChildren\nhave been especially impacted by the stressful situation surrounding the\nCOVID-19 pandemic and I feel Sharmon\u2019s positive, kind approach through\nMindfulness is a great addition to our summer programming.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kindergarten through third grade will meet from 9:00 a.m. to\n10:30 a.m. and fourth through eighth graders will meet from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30\nPM.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information, the public may call
