In 2023, the Maine Arts Commission and Wintergreen Arts Center partnered to launch the Aroostook Creative Network Micro-Grant Program. Since its launch, the program has supported artists across disciplines including visual arts, music, craft, and community-based creative projects throughout Aroostook County. Applications are reviewed by a panel of community-based artists and arts/cultural advocates from southern, central, and northern Aroostook County.
“We’ve been excited to see the growth of the Aroostook Creative Network and the impact these micro-grants have had for artists across the county,” said Allyson Midgley, executive director of Wintergreen Arts Center. “Supporting local artists and partnering with the Maine Arts Commission continues to strengthen the creative community in Aroostook County.”
Funding for the Aroostook Creative Network Micro-Grant Program is made possible by the Maine Arts Commission, an independent state agency supported by the National Endowment for the Arts: mainearts.maine.gov. The micro-grant program is administered by Wintergreen Arts Center. More information about the program and how to apply is found on their website, wintergreenarts.org (click Aroostook Creative Network), or by calling (207) 762-3576.
