PRESQUE ISLE, Maine—Wintergreen Arts Center recently welcomed Allyson “Ally” Midgley to serve as executive director of the nonprofit organization. She succeeds Dottie Hutchins, who served in the role since 2016.

As executive director, Ally assumes responsibility for overseeing Wintergreen’s creative team while ensuring financial stability and maintaining the organization’s unique culture and commitment to the people of Aroostook County.

Allyson Midgley is originally from the Chicagoland suburbs but has spent the last 10 years living in Indiana. During her time in Indiana, Ally worked in the higher education and nonprofit sector, most recently at an arts nonprofit that focuses on public sculpture.

“We are excited to have Ally onboard,” said Danielle Rae Clark, Wintergreen’s board chair. “Both our staff and board members find her kind, creative, and eager to help us begin the next chapter at Wintergreen.”

Ally’s degree is in Studio Art with an emphasis on printmaking. Aside from her work in printmaking, she also works in stained glass, which she learned from her grandfather. When she is not in her studio, Ally enjoys reading, hiking with her dogs, and crocheting.

“I am eager to engage in the community and in the arts world in Aroostook County,” said Allyson, “and to continue to support the mission of Wintergreen.”
