and Wednesday, Ocober 26, 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm
Over this 2-session class, Illustrator Judy Sherman and her students explore the process and importance illustrations have on the enjoyment and understanding of a book.
Mrs. Sherman will draw from her own experiences as the illustrator of the 2013 book, “BON HOMME” a fictional account of eighth grader Eddie Clark growing up in 1925-era Ashland, Maine. She will discuss all aspects of illustration from research through to the many sketches it takes to bring everything together in a visual format.
During the first class session, students will be assigned a short story to illustrate. Over the month between classes they are expected to come up with illustration ideas and sketches to complete with Mrs. Sherman during the second class session.
